• In cuisine, K2CO3 is used as an ingredient in the production of grass jelly, a food consumed in Chinese and Southeast Asian cuisines. Potassium Carbonate is used to Tenderize beef intestines. German gingerbread recipes often use K2CO3 as a baking agent.
• Potassium carbonate is sometimes used as a buffer in the production of honey or alcohol .
• Potassium Carbonate is also used as a cleaning agent and is also known as electrolysis or "designer" water. Water softening properties of Potassium Carbonate add to water's natural ability to remove dirt and sanitize areas.
